I’m so excited that I was asked to photograph an editorial for SKIRT magazine! Check out the cover and some of the photos that were used in the September issue!
Rosa and I recently styled a beautiful shoot with the gorgeous, Marissa Rocco. Honestly, we didn't plan on it turning into something that resembled a modern day editorial Dorothy but it evolved into it once we got on location. The mixture of the killer fishtail braids Rosa did and the long grass and winding paths really gives it a distinct Oz vibe! I hope you all enjoy these...this project is my favorite with Rosa so far!

Here is another beautifully styled shoot I was honored to be a part of with Makeup/Hair Artist, Rosa Martinez. She styled this look to perfection. We had help with the second look from Dandy Boutique, my absolute favorite shop in Charleston. Our gorgeous model is Sam Rueter. She is a local contemporary artist and one of the most talented women I know! It was so fun walking the streets of downtown Charleston and creating these gorgeous portraits. I hope you enjoy them!

The Old Naval Shipyard in North Charleston is one of my favorite places to shoot. Yes, I love the charm and romance of downtown Charleston but sometimes I want some edge in my photos. This spot is perfect for that with it's old abandoned buildings and rusted loading docks. I love photographing Lette, she is such a natural in front of the camera! She sent me some inspiration shots that she wanted to try because she really wanted to highlight her gorgeous hair in the photos. We had a crazy winter storm (YES SNOW IN CHARLESTON) so we still had snow on the ground. Everything was perfect. I could not have dreamed of these photos coming out any better than they did. Get ready to fall in love with Lette and this location. xoxo
I've been wanting to do a photo series at the Fair for a few years now but it never seemed to come together. I was determined this year! I was originally only going to do two shoots but when I started advertising for models and makeup artists, the response was so great I added more. It was so much fun spending three evenings at the fair working with these amazing models and artists to create these gorgeous portraits. Until next year, Coastal Carolina Fair xoxo

Let me take a minute to brag on Charleston Makeup and Hair Artist, Rosa Martinez. When she came to me with this idea I was very intrigued by the mood board. She wanted to make this headpiece and build the shoot around it. Let me tell you, the amount of detail Rosa put into this piece is UNREAL...I don't think these photos even do it justice! We chose beautiful Lindsey, who is also an insanely good photographer, to be our model. Her long blonde hair and striking features were perfect. Of course we wanted to give this a very dark feel so we did the shoot in one of the oldest cemeteries in Charleston, St. Phillip's Church Cemetery. Everything came together to create these beautifully eerie photos. Check them out! Also, since posting them on Facebook and Instagram, people have pointed out that they see some scary stuff in the images. Can you find anything? (cue spooky noises) xoxox.

I am probably one of the biggest fans of dogs IN THE WORLD. My 5 year old Dachshund is such a big part of my world and brings me more happiness than I could ever explain. When Nina asked me to do a photo session with her and her 5 year old French Mastiff, Veda, I was ECSTATIC! Why doesn't every single dog owner do this?!! Dogs aren't with us forever, unfortunately, but having beautiful portraits of a sunset evening playing in the water together will be something you can treasure for a lifetime. This session makes me so happy. Nina is absolutely gorgeous and Veda is a whole lot of love and sweetness. I won't forget her running into the water and splashing around....And yes, dogs can smile. Check out my favorites from our evening together! xoxo
In Charleston, we are very fortunate to have a community of very talented creatives. I was thrilled when local makeup artist, Rosa Martinez, www.therosamartinez.com, asked me to be a part of this beautiful fall inspired styled project. The photos came out so great and I'm so happy Rosa let me help bring her concept to life! Enjoy and Happy Fall! (Ya'll xoxo)

I have a special place in my heart for Anniversary sessions. It's such a beautiful gift to travel to one of the cities you love the most and to take photos loving on each other in some of the most beautiful alley ways and historic neighborhoods in the country. Elizabeth and Nathan's love for each other was so beautiful to capture. I could have spent all evening walking the city with them. Here are some of my favorites xoxo
I've been DYING to share these photos from my styled shoot with the Gorgeous Joanne! She was dressed in the most amazing retro inspired pieces from Dandy Boutique. We decided to do the session at a laundromat/cafe right in the center of Historic Downtown and the College of Charleston. They came out so good! Check them out xoxo!

Engagement Sessions are my favorite especially when I get an adventurous couple like Ilana and Adam! We had originally planned on just doing the photos on Sullivan's Island at my favorite secluded beach but a few days before the session, Ilana asked if we could do some downtown since that is where they met. Any chance I get to shoot downtown, I am ECSTATIC so of course I was all for it! We walked down Broad street in the early morning hours and stopped at all these amazing spots! I even convinced them to stop in the middle of Historic King Street for a shot! After that, we headed to Sullivan's Island where Ilana changed into the most breathtaking dress I'd ever seen. Their is no taking a bad photo of these two. They splashed around in the ocean for me and got down into the sand....it was absolutely perfect. Take a look!!!!
I'm so excited to share this gorgeous maternity session with you all!! Alicia is pregnant with her second baby! YAY! We did her first maternity session with her husband when she was pregnant with Caleb. The photos came out great! This time though, we wanted to do it completely different. Alicia is so naturally beautiful, and her pregnancy glow is REAL! When she told me about her blue lace gown and flower crown, I knew I wanted to take her out to Botany Bay on Edisto Island. We did the driving tour and hopped out to take photos anytime we saw something beautiful...which was ALOT! Alicia in all her pregnancy gorgeousness against the stunning natural beauty of Botany Bay created these magical images! I hope you enjoy!
I've been wanting to shoot in the sunflower fields here in South Carolina for years, but I always seem to miss them. They don't stay at their peak for very long after blooming and the stars just haven't aligned for me....until now. I'm very lucky to be surrounded by a community of artists and creatives that want to help each other out. I posted a plea for help in one of my groups and within minutes, I had a shoot set up in a gorgeous private sunflower field in Ridgeville, SC (and a bonus cornfield right next to it!!) for that same day! I have been wanting to work with Nichol for a while and this was the perfect location to photograph her at. Thank goodness she was available last minute! I hope these brighten your day xoxo.
I had so much fun photographing Lucia at The Vinyl Countdown, an awesome local record store on King Street, downtown Charleston. You have to check it out! I love these photos so much because it was just us having a good time making some art! My favorite moment was when I asked her to pick out any record for a shot I wanted to do and she quickly chose Olivia Newton John....It's like she read my mind! I hope you enjoy them!!
It was such an honor to photograph my dear friends' breathtaking wedding. I was so excited because if you have ever met Chris and Sidra, you just knew that their day was going to be filled to the brim with love (and lots of happy tears). It was all that and more! The devotion they have for one another is something right out of a fairytale. All that mixed with the gorgeous backdrop of Ashley Hall in downtown Charleston and a ceremony in the family church and I was in HEAVEN. Here is a little glimpse of their beautiful day. I know this is just the beginning of a perfect life together xoxo.
Nothing makes me happier than having past clients contact me for another session. It feels so special that they trust me to document such important milestones in their lives repeatedly. So when this gorgeous family asked to do another family session for them, I was ecstatic! I have been wanting to go out to Strawberry Chapel for a while and it did not disappoint. The lighting was beautiful, the fields and the trees, breathtaking....throw in the most adorable family ever and we had photo gold! Baby T get's more precious every time I see him and Nate the Great Dane looks so handsome posing next to his family. This session couldn't have been more perfect!
Last week, I had the pleasure of photographing a gorgeous couple expecting their first child! Alexis and Stephen live in Atlanta and traveled to Charleston to attend the first of two baby showers being thrown in their honor! Alexis grew up here and wanted to do a maternity session downtown to showcase the beauty of our unique city. White Point Gardens also known as Battery Park was the perfect location. I'm so excited to share these!
I had a great experience the other morning working with a local model, Daisy Sanchez. She really wanted to do something a little more edgy so I thought it would be the perfect time to use the smoke bombs I've been wanting to try for so long! They were unpredictable, and a little scary at times but so worth it! We also did some shots at sunrise on Sullivan's Island and this gorgeous field. Here are some of my faves!
